FORCE ON A CURRENT CARRYING CONDUCTOR
# When current-carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic
field, it will experience a force
# THIS CAN BE
DEMONSTARTED BY A SIMPLE ACTIVITY
In this ckt and when current flows, Displacement in wire will be observed, which shows that a current carrying conductor experience a force when kept in magnetic field.
In this ckt and when current flows, Displacement in wire will be observed, which shows that a current carrying conductor experience a force when kept in magnetic field.
Note:
On reversing the direction of either
direction of current OR magnetic field, the direction of force is also reversed
E.g. If
current flowing towards to right and the magnetic field is pointing into the
paper, the direction of the force is predicted by the Fleming’s left hand rule
to be upwards.
PRACTICE PROBLEMS
Q.1) STATE FLEMMINGS LEFT HAND RULE.
Q.2) WHICH RULE YOU WILL USE TO FIND OUT THE DIRECTION OF FORCE EXPERIENCED BY A CURRENT CARRYING CONDUCTOR?
